December Family Fun!

Finally, I have managed to get round to updating my blog with recent shoots done on location in South Africa. I have "risked" my life with visit from a certain totally harmless bush snake (it wasnt the snake that posed risk to my life but the thumping heart in my chest as I saw this green snake approaching me rather swiftly!) and had to deal with temporary set-back of local power failure just as I was about to blog! I then had to travel to a good friends Wedding (as a guest not as a photographer) and now, finally I can update you all on my goings-on! Phew!

So when I planned my trip to South Africa, I offered my services to friends who told their friends and ended up doing 7 shoots in 36 hours!!! Nevertheless, it was great fun! I have met an array of families with children aged 4 months to 15 years! I think that was my biggest challenge, adapting to the different ages as "The wheels on the bus" does not illicit the same kind of joy as it does with a 2 year old!!

Here are some of the photos from the shoots. I will be posting individual albums on my Facebook page should you want to see more.

Samson & Family

It was great fun photographing 7 week old Samson and his family on the weekend. Sam's older brother Ben (2) provided much entertainment while Sam was having a little feed to keep him going! Once fed, little Sam was full of smiles for the camera (and Mom and Dad) and we got a couple of great shots!
All in all, another great shoot and a collage of wonderful memories captured for this lovely family!

Two's Company

Ten month old twins, Millie and Lottie provided and challenging but thoroughly enjoyable shoot. After having to re-shoot on location in their home, we finally got them both in a relaxed and happy mood. Getting them to both sit and look in the same direction, however, was another thing! They managed to get used to me, the lights and my camera and with a little help (and distraction) from Grandpa, their little personalities shone through.

Santa's Little Helper!

Imagine if all Santa's little helpers were this cute!! Little Ethan, a new addition to Santa's team (not that we support child labour!) is all dressed up and ready for the festive season!
I can't believe that Ethan is 1 already - it does not seem all that long ago that I was doing bump photos for his parents. It has been a great year and I am so glad to have been able to photograph many stages of it! Thank you Brent and Abigail for your support and for having such a cute little boy!

Expecting Baby F!

I had the pleasure of photographing this lovely Momma-to-be. The shoot was a Birthday present for Dad and what a great shoot it was! Adam and Juliet had such wonderful energy (not to mention a wicked sense of humour!) so we spent much of our time smiling and laughing (oh, and there were a few emotional tears too!). It is times like this that reinforce the love I have for my job!
Here are some photos from their shoot, creating some lovely memories for Mom & Dad-to-be at an exciting time in their lives.

Oscar & Amelie

Well, I have enjoyed a week or so off and was very keen to get my hands back on my camera and get back in the studio. I was very fortunate to photograph two gorgeous little children yesterday, Oscar (2) and his little sister Amelie (8 months). Their shoot is a surprise Christmas gift for their Dad - not to mention some wall art too!! So if anyone knows Oscar and Amelie's Dad, please don't let the cat out of the bag and spoil the surprise! Here are 3 of their pics from their session.
